Disclosure Radio Vol. 1 War of the Worlds | Orson Welles’ Legendary Alien Invasion Broadcast

Dark Entertainments Posted on 6th June 2026 by Steven Dark10th June 2026
Welcome to Disclosure Radio, a Dark Entertainments series exploring classic alien contact, UFO panic, sci-fi horror and strange broadcasts from the golden age of audio. Before flying saucers, before UAP hearings, before modern talk of disclosure and non-human intelligence, there was one broadcast that made alien invasion feel terrifyingly immediate. Part of Disclosure Radio, a Dark Entertainments playlist connecting classic UFO, alien-contact and sci-fi horror radio with today’s renewed interest in UAPs, disclosure, non-human intelligence, government secrecy and unexplained aerial phenomena. Long before modern hearings, whistleblower claims, AARO reports, NASA studies and public figures such as David Grusch, Ryan Graves, David Fravor, Luis Elizondo, Christopher Mellon, Avi Loeb and Jacques Vallée became part of the conversation, vintage radio was already exploring the same haunting question: are we alone? These broadcasts capture the fear, wonder and paranoia of earlier ages — from Martian invasion and strange signals to hidden visitors, official silence and contact from beyond. In Vol. 1, we present the legendary 1938 Mercury Theatre broadcast of The War of the Worlds, directed and narrated by Orson Welles. This is Orson Welles’ legendary 1938 radio adaptation of The War of the Worlds, presented here by Dark Entertainments / Horror Radio as part of our classic alien contact and sci-fi horror audio collections.
