Disclosure Radio | War of the Worlds | Lux Radio Theatre Alien Invasion | Full Cast Vintage Drama

Dark Entertainments Posted on 7th June 2026 by Steven Dark12th June 2026
Welcome to Disclosure Radio, a Dark Entertainments series exploring classic alien contact, UFO panic, sci-fi horror and strange broadcasts from the golden age of audio. Before flying saucers, before UAP hearings, before modern talk of disclosure and non-human intelligence, there was one broadcast that made alien invasion feel terrifyingly immediate. In Vol. 2, we present the 1955 Lux Radio Theatre adaptation of The War of the Worlds. This is not the infamous 1938 Orson Welles panic broadcast. This is a later, more polished, Hollywood-style radio version of H. G. Wells’ classic alien invasion story — a mid-century retelling shaped by cinema, atomic-age anxiety, Cold War unease and the enduring fear that something from beyond Earth may one day arrive. The 1938 broadcast asked: what if the news told us aliens had landed? The 1955 version asks: what if the nightmare never really ended?

Disclosure Radio Vol. 1 War of the Worlds | Orson Welles’ Legendary Alien Invasion Broadcast

Part of Disclosure Radio, a Dark Entertainments playlist connecting classic UFO, alien-contact and sci-fi horror radio with today’s renewed interest in UAPs, disclosure, non-human intelligence, government secrecy and unexplained aerial phenomena. Long before modern hearings, whistleblower claims, AARO reports, NASA studies and public figures such as David Grusch, Ryan Graves, David Fravor, Luis Elizondo, Christopher Mellon, Avi Loeb and Jacques Vallée became part of the conversation, vintage radio was already exploring the same haunting question: are we alone? These broadcasts capture the fear, wonder and paranoia of earlier ages — from Martian invasion and strange signals to hidden visitors, official silence and contact from beyond. In Vol. 1, we present the legendary 1938 Mercury Theatre broadcast of The War of the Worlds, directed and narrated by Orson Welles. This is Orson Welles’ legendary 1938 radio adaptation of The War of the Worlds, presented here by Dark Entertainments / Horror Radio as part of our classic alien contact and sci-fi horror audio collections.

Haunted Houses & Walls That Remember | Vintage Audio Horror | Voices From Beyond Vol. 4

Dark Entertainments Posted on 6th June 2026 by Steven Dark12th June 2026
Welcome to Voices From Beyond, a Dark Entertainments series of curated classic horror radio collections — eerie tales gathered from the golden age of radio drama and introduced by Steven Dark, Your Man in Black. In Vol. 4 — Haunted Houses, Rooms & Places That Remember, we enter houses where the walls whisper, rooms that refuse to forget, and places where the past has not quite finished with the living. Some houses are merely built. Others are inhabited long after their occupants have gone. A locked room. A doomed mansion. A half-empty house with something still waiting inside. And a place where memory itself becomes the ghost. This volume gathers together classic horror and suspense radio dramas from Inner Sanctum Mysteries, The Mysterious Traveler, Beyond Midnight and Nightfall — woven into a darkly atmospheric listening experience for lovers of old-time radio, haunted houses, Gothic suspense, supernatural mystery and tales best heard after midnight.

Dark Entertainments Posted on 8th November 2014 by Steven Dark1st July 2020
